A l'initiative du SIPEC (Syndicat des entreprises de l’Image, de la Photo Et de la Communication) la prochaine édition du Salon de la Photo se tiendra du Jeudi 13 au Lundi 17 novembre 2008 à Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. http://www.lesalondelaphoto.com

Nikon partenaire officiel ! Nikon sera partenaire de l’événement ! Et doublement partenaire. Nikon parrainera la catégorie jeune talent d’une part et d’autre part dotera le lauréat de la photographie de l’année de matériel Nikon d’une valeur de 10 000,00 € TTC !!! Nikon s’est imposé en ce début d’année comme le numéro 1 sur le marché des reflex numériques. Nul doute qu’avec la sortie officielle du tout nouveau D 700, Nikon va continuer sur sa lancée, car ce nouveau boîtier devrait ravir les professionnels.

Dans son numéro de mai, numéro 1662, le magazine Le Photographe consacre un article au concours Les Photographies de l’année. Précisant notamment : “...la part dédiée aux photographes professionnels est de plus en plus congrue...C’est bien pour cette raison... que le concours est exclusivement réservé aux photographes professionnels pouvant justifier de leur activité...”.

The « Agence pour la Promotion de la Photographie Professionnelle en France » (in short apppf) invites you to enter a competition called « The Photographs of the year ». The only photographers entitled to enter this competition are to be professionals residing in France or in the French Territories overseas (known as Dom-Tom). Awards shall be given to eighteen categories, not including that of the photograph of the year and an honours trophy! The “European photograph of the year” shall be awarded to any professional photographer residing in Europe and outside of France. The subject is open. The “young talent of the year photograph” applies to all professional photographers having their residence in France and having operated for no more than two years ,on January 1st 2008. The subject is open. All together, twenty awards shall be remitted on March 28th 2009, in Alençon in the course of a Ceremony which shall bring together the 54 Nominees (three per subject) and the best Photographers in France and in Europe . Apart from this evening gathering, once the winners have been selected, the winning photographs shall be assembled in an itinerant exhibition which shall travel through France. In a first instance it shall visit the partners, and then it shall go to the largest festivals in France and in Europe. A book including the 18 awarded photographs, with that of the other nominees, shall also be edited each year, therefore including 54 photographs. In each category the winner shall receive a statuette worth 400 € and benefit also of the copyright for the books, the postcards and the posters edited by the APPPF and for the itinerant exhibitions developed by APPPF, the modalities of which shall be established formally by a Contract between him and the APPPF for an overall amount of 1,000€ per winner. The selection, the final choice and the winners of the competition “the photographs of the year” shall be elected by a jury of reputable professional photographers, of Festival Managers, of Presidents of professional bodies, of partners and specialized journalists. Only reputable professionals shall be retained. The photograph of the year, in each category, shall be the result of the activity of the professional photographers during the calendar year. It is compulsory that the photographs should have been shot between the 1st of January and the 31st of December 2008. Any, male or female photographer, is invited to enter this competition unequalled in France. Do not hesitate to forward the information to all your colleagues and fellow photographers.
